The Life and Marvelous Misadventures of an Aspiring Equestrian

Welcome to the Offhanded Equestrian
My story is not much of one, but maybe by telling it, I might be able to help someone else along the way. This is new to me, so here we go.
August 21, 2010 forever changed my life. I was involved in a horse-related accident on the ranch I lived and worked at which resulted in the loss of my left hand. Despite this, I'm still doing what I love, working with horses and cattle. Not much has changed, it's different, but what isn't? Honestly, some days are rough, but I couldn't be happier, I've married the man of my dreams and couldn't have asked for a greater family to be surrounded by.
This is my life, enjoy the ride.

The Offhanded Equestrian
Some of my earliest memories are of horses and the farm they were kept prior to moving to the house I grew up in.
Having grown up around and in the western disciplines, I've had the pleasure of riding some incredible horses for some amazing people all across the nation.
In November of 2019, I figured why not try something new, so I started learning dressage and Eventing and have enjoyed incorporating it into my training routine for my gelding and loosely showing.
We now have our sights set on earning a place on the US Paralympic team and would love to represent our amazing country in Paris, 2024!

bc Cats royal "Blue"
Confused Cowhorse
I was Blessed to purchase Blue from a dear friend of mine back in 2014, one look at his sale photo and I was done. To my surprise, the blue roan colt I brought home soon turned into the most handsome dapple grey you've ever seen. I bought him as a project that I could finish and it has been the most challenging, yet exceedingly rewarding thing I've ever done
This is the most incredible and talented horse that I've ever had the pleasure to ride. I couldn't be more proud of all the amazing accomplishments we've achieved and I cannot wait to see where this journey takes us!

Moral Support
Wes - My loving husband, my rock, encouragement, film crew, ground crew, medic, co-pilot, and so much more. This journey would not be possible without him to keep me sane and grounded in my goals.
Annie (Red & White) - My first child and a true joy. Always guaranteed to make you smile and obsessed with our cat, Missy. A Daddy's girl all the way
Billy "the kid" (Black & White) - We adopted Bill from the shelter in 2017 and he's been a character since. He loves to cuddle and is my shadow.
